Curriculum

Derby Pride Academy strives to offer a broad and balanced curriculum to all of its students. We take the desires of Student Voice and combine these with staff expertise to provide subjects that engage our students and contribute to them acquiring positive outcomes.

Each subject has established a sequence of lessons to ensure assessment objectives are met through steps to success, which provide students with the knowledge, skills and experiences to be successful. This includes sharing a thematic approach to studying at KS3.

All students can follow an academic programme, with work experience opportunities embedded into the curriculum. We aim for all students to develop their core skills of English and Maths and be functional in society when they leave our academy. At the core of the curriculum is personal development and planning for post 16. The curriculum components are explicitly taught via weekly timetabled lessons in PSHE, Food Technology and Futures.
